I found Whit's Kits Fabrics & Crafts on facebook, and what a find it was! The owner of this page, Carrie, just finished running one contest, and is in the process of wrapping up another this weekend. If you are at all friendly with your sewing machine, her kits will give you a jump-start on creating something really unique! I think that even I could handle turning one of her pillow case kits into an honest-to-goodness pillowcase! Yes, they come with directions.
The one pictured at the top of this post is currently available on Ebay.
Here's another nice example, a Pillowcase Kit in Teal, Blue and Brown Stripes from the Etsy shop. It creates one pillowcase, so if you want a pair, just order two, and directions are included! This kit includes a 3/4 yard piece of the blue, teal & brown paisley striped fabric shown by Marcus Brothers for the pillow "body", a strip of blue, teal & brown stripes for the coordinating piping and a piece of a brown RJR floral print from RJR for the trim/accent.
While there is a bigger selection (as of this writing) in her Ebay store, it looks like more new things are coming to her Etsy store. So, shop both, not onlly for pillowcase kits, but also special fabrics, quilting blocks and kits, and even an occasional hand crafted creation by Carrie herself.
