It may be only September but did you know that Oktoberfest starts in Munich this week?  It does!

  That's right - Oktoberfest actually starts in September.  It ENDS at the beginning of October.  The dates of this year's festival are September 17 - October 3.  So, there's still plenty of time to join in the fun. 
If you can't make it to Germany for the two hundred year old festival, you could always plan a trip to a local German restaurant, where, if you're lucky, there will be plenty of Oktoberfest atmosphere.

Or, make your own Oktoberfest at home!  Have a couple of friends over and serve up some Schweinebraten or Bratwurst with a side of Sauerkraut.

Of course, the essential ingredient for any Oktoberfest celebration is plenty of great beer - preferably German beer.  And, of course, you MUST drink from a stein, like they'll be doing in Bavaria.
